Nebb USB Sharing Device SwitchThe main purpose of the USB Sharing Device Switch (USB-SDS) is providing an industrial solution for sharing one USB device (e.g. keyboard, mouse, printer etc.) between two computers. The switching is achieved by an external control voltage (a switch, PLC etc.) of 24 VDC between M and L+K. An auxiliary switch (C+A/B) is incorporated for indicating the current state to a third device (e.g. a PLC) or for performing additional switching of, for example, a KVM solution.
There is no interference with the USB protocol itself, just passive switching. Introducing this unit may reduce the maximum cable length allowed. USB cables are not included. Operation
L+K are normally connected; when not so the USB device may draw power from the other USB source. OptionsThe unit can be supplied with support for alternative control voltages above 5 VDC. Technical data
Datasheet valid as of May 2008. For more information, please contact Nebb Norway.
